Dell considers Ghana as key in growth agenda

Technology giants Dell have named Ghana as one of their key partners in the growth agenda for emerging Africa as they seek to increase coverage to the region.

At a press briefing of selected journalists on the continent, top officials of the IT firm enumerated a number of challenges that have been occasioned as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has forced many companies to strategize to meet the solution of their customers.

Speaking at the press briefing on Monday, Vice President-Emerging Africa Habib Mahakian noted that the coronavirus pandemic has impacted and disrupted the ICT industry globally and across emerging Africa which has resulted in a lot of changes in the market.

“In the last six months, one thing is clear: The pandemic did impact and disrupt the ICT industry globally and across emerging Africa.

“In this time of intense change, we see technology as a key path to economic recovery and companies need to build and strengthen the foundations for their digital future.”

According to him, Dell Technologies will aim to simplify this journey by solutions that enable business leaders to use advanced technologies to drive growth and improve competitiveness.

The company also noted that issues of currency fluctuations, forex and oil price fluctuations remained a major challenge on the continent and advised African governments to invest more in local resources rather than allowing its people to travel outside.

Dell also urged companies to be more agile in taking decisions.
