The famous actress and social media personality Rosemond Adale brown but popularly called Akuapem Poloo on June 30th, 2020 posted her nude picture on her social media handles with the son looking directly at her as part of celebrating her son’s seventh birthday.
Under the picture, she captioned ” I am naked in front of you because this is how naked I was giving birth to you, so in case you find me lying somewhere don’t pass by but see me as your mom who brought you to life.
However, the picture drew much attention which created the need for Child Rights International, an NGO focused on children”s welfare to report the case to the Criminal Investigations Department of Police to handle it.
The actress at the initial stage pleaded not guilty but later altered her plea to guilty on her trial. She was handed a 90 days jail term by the court for disclosing obscure material and undermining the dignity and privacy of the seven-year-old son.
Describing the verdict as harsh by her Lawyer, Andy Vortia, an appeal against it was made by him.
Finally, the Criminal Court 1 Division of the High Court has set December 1 this year to give its verdict following the appeal filed by Akuapem Poloo.
