FROM THE KOTOKO ANGLE – 8 OBSERVATIONS VS BIBIANI GOLD STARS

Sports

Krobea Asante Kotoko played formidably well against GoldStars.

👉Abalora was on top from and had 100% concentration.
👉Agadas showed great strength and ability in the defensive midfield area. His tackles were on point. Passes were not as exceptional, probably due to the nature of the pitch. In short, he was a giant in the middle of the pitch.
👉Asmah looked a bit shaky at the left back while Chris Nettey had a decent nice game at the other flank.
👉Mudasiru showed great quality and class in midfield. A bit aggressive sometimes but he was very strong and very physical with or without the ball. Hopefully, his niggling injuries do not surface.
👉One of the finest passers of the ball is Fabio Gama. His quick through passes are peerless. I believe a good and pacy striker is needed in order to generate more assists for Gama. At the end, number of assists will be crucial for him this season.
👉Isaac ‘Neymar’ Oppong to is one fantastic chap. Three matches so far for the young lad who has had fantastic contributions to goal. Great asset for the porcupine warriors.
👉Appau stood in the stead of captain Ismail Ganiu in a fashion the former would be proud of. His decent outing proves Kotoko’s squad depth at the back.

👉Dr. Prosper Narteh-Ogum’s blueprint to a successful side that retains the ball and serves pressure until the end is taking shape. Patience, patience is what he needs from all stakeholders, to build an indomitable side.

It’s early days yet for the red army to start jubilating but it must be said that they have started well.

NB: The last time Kotoko won their first three league games was in 2013/2014 which is also the last time they won the Ghana Premier League.
