LEGON CITIES VS DREAMS FC
After three consecutive league victories, Legon Cities fans were happy and expectant that their team might finish the season on a positive note. Unfortunately, their hopes were dashed. Their beloved club suffered a shock one-nil loss away from home to newcomers Accra Lions. Back to square one, but with only a few games remaining in the season, the goal is straightforward. Finish the league in the top half. The first step in that quest is a home match against Dreams FC.
The alarm bells may be sounding in the Dreams FC camp as they sit thirteenth in the league table, only two points from safety. However, it may be early to panic just yet. This is a team that can hold its own against the big boys. Despite the fact that Dream FC has not won in their past five matches, I believe they will survive the relegation battle and remain in the league. In game week 29, they face Legon Cities, and winning away from home could be a difficult feat. However, anything can happen in football.

KARELA UNITED VS GREAT OLYMPICS
The CAM Park will witness a tightly contested game to day as Karela host Olympics. Both teams have clocked the 40-point mark and lie within the top 7. Karela in the past 6 games, have suffered defeats to Eleven Wonders and Accra Lions. Their form is not embarrassing, neither is it captivating. This afternoon, the home advantage will be theirs for them to prove their strength in the Ghana Premier League.
The wonder club, unlike their co-flirters with relegation, King Faisal, are riding higher than where they usually would have been in a regular league season. They sit in 5th place, just a point behind 4th place Hearts of Oak. The truth is that they may not be title contenders, but developing a consistent game is integral in ensuring longevity in the league and subsequently, challenging for the trophy when the circumstances are ripe. They have a point to prove in faraway Ainyinase.

RTU VS BECHEM UNITED
Real Tamale United have a date with in-form Bechem United. The pride of the North have managed to hold their own in the last 4 games, securing 2 draws and 2 wins. Such a form will help them retain a place in the league next season. That quest will face a difficult hurdle in 2nd placed Bechem United who remain resolute in holding on to the second spot on the table. Their next game will be against Bibiani Gold Stars who were also promoted along side RTU. That trip will be a tough one and hence, points must be made from this match.
Bechem United continue to prove their mettle in the top tier of Ghana football on a regular basis in recent times. They dispatched off Aduana in the semi-final of FA Cup after a spirited performance which their coach Kasim Mingle credited to their athletic performance and overall fitness. Francis Twene and goal poacher, Emmanuel Avornyor will be called upon again, to get the job done for the hunters.

HEARTS OF OAK VS BIBIANI GOLD STARS
Defending champions will host Bibiani Gold Stars after their impressive outing in the FA Cup semi-final against Dreams FC in Accra. The same venue will be the centre of attention this afternoon as debutants Gold Stars come to town. Afriyie Barnieh’s hot scoring streak is set to continue as the U’20 Afcon winning captain sets tongues wagging about a potential call up to the Black Stars for both the Afcon 2023 qualifiers and the World Cup, later in November. A good win can see them jump into second place, right behind rival, Kotoko in top spot. An alleged sickness ravaging their camp could be their undoing, as the GFA is said to have rejected a bid by the Phobians to get their match day 29 game postponed.
Gold Stars lie in 11th place on the table, after recording 3 wins in their last 5 games. The last one was against King Faisal at the Duns Park in Bibiani. That win did not only catapult to 38 points, 7 points away from the relegation zone, but also bolstered their hopes of retaining their status as a Premier League team at the beginning of the next season. Against the local rivals of Hearts of Oak, Olympics, they managed to steal a 2-1 win and will have confidence in their abilities to get something out of this crunch encounter.

ASHANTI GOLD VS KOTOKO
They made the news this week for the wrong reasons. After being found guilty of match fixing allegations, Obuasi Ashanti Gold will be relegated to division two at the end of the season. A match against city rivals Asante Kotoko, should divert the players attention and give them something to focus on till the league ends. Whether they will be able to appeal this situation or not, we leave it to fate to decide.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko are just a few games away from achieving their dream. The Porcupine Warriors have regained their poise after losing back-to-back games. They have won four points out of a possible six points in their previous two league fixtures. For Kotoko, every game ahead is a final. They’ll want to cap off a good season by winning the league title. A clash against their opponents is never easy, but the Len Clay sports stadium will undoubtedly provide us with an exciting match.
