WAFA VS KOTOKO

The Sogakope lads are coming into this fixture with a win on the road against Accra Gt. Olympics. Though this should be a confidence booster, WAFA have to be weary of the porcupine warriors who seek to make amends after their draw at home to Liberty Professionals. WAFA are heavily motivated for this clash as always and seek to dent the pride of the fabulous boys.

Kotoko will still be without the services of Sogne Yacouba who needs to sort out some contract issues with the club. WAFA on the other hand, have struggled at home this season and the Red Bull Academy pitch isn’t the fortress it used to be. Only Ebusua Dwarfs have failed to take a point from Sogakope.

PREDICTION: WAFA 1: 2 KOTOKO

MEDEAMA VS BECHEM UNITED

Medeama will be hoping to get back to winning ways after losing to Aduana stars in match week 7. Medeama have not lost at home and that will be an added advantage to them. Bechem United will have momentum on their side after defeating Berekum Chelsea who are second on the league log. Bechem’s away record has not been impressive, managing only a draw and conceding 5 goals in the process.

Both teams have fire power upfront and will look to use that to their advantage. Bechem United’s Prince Kwabena Adu is second on the top scorers chart with 6 goals while Medeama SC have Prince Opoku Agyemang and Nana Kofi Babil in 5th and 7th with 5goals and 3 goals respectively.

PREDICTION: MEDEAMA SC 3 : BECHEM UNITED 1

LIBERTY PROFESSIONALS VS DREAMS FC

Liberty will feel unlucky for not taking the maximum points away from home after conceding a late goal against Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Their performance will spur them on as they enter this game as favourites. Liberty have not won at home this season, losing to their city rivals Hearts of Oak and drawing twice. A home win is long overdue and this match will provide a perfect opportunity for them to banish their woes at home.

Dreams FC on the other hand were beaten by Hearts of Oak at their backyard but will be encouraged by the fact that they have won on the road this season and will look to add Liberty to the list of opponents they have conquered. Both teams have 10 points after GW 7 and a win for either of them will take them further up the table.

PREDICTION –  LIBERTY 2 : DREAMS FC 1

BEREKUM CHELSEA VS KARELA UNITED

After relinquishing the top spot to Aduana Stars, Berekum Chelsea host Karela United at the Golden City Park in Sunyani. Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from two disappointing performances over the past week which has seen them drop to second on the table after picking one point from their last two games as against 13 in their first five games.

Having conceded just one goal in three games at Home, Berekum Chelsea’s defense will prove a hard nut to crack for the attackers of Karela United. But in Diawisie Taylor, Karela may just have the weapon to breach Chelsea’s defense to lead his team to victory away from home, after netting a brace against Legon Cities in their previous game.

PREDICTION – BEREKUM CHELSEA 1  KARELA UNITED 0

KING FAISAL FC VS ACCRA GT OLYMPICS

Match Week 8 looks nothing short of exciting, as King Faisal hosts Accra Great Olympics at the Baba Yara Stadium. Both clubs have been struggling so far in the league as they languish at the bottom half of the league table. King Faisal are already in the relegation zone on 17th, with Accra Great Olympics, just two places above them on 14th.

King Faisal have averaged a goal per game so far in the league but have a poor defensive record, conceding 15 goals. With no wins, 4 loses and 3 draws (two of them at home). Accra Great Olympics have scored 4 goals so far this season and conceded 7. King Faisal lost their last game against Inter Allies but displayed some good football by scoring 2 goals in the 6 goal thriller in that away match. Accra Great Olympics however in their last game lost narrowly to WAFA with their player (Gladson Awako) picking the MVP for that game.

PREDICTION – KING FAISAL 2: OLYMPICS 1

ACCRA HEARTS OF OAK VS ASHANTIGOLD

Ashantigold are coming to Accra with high hopes of upsetting the Phobian afterna narrow win against Ebusua Dwarfs in their last league game. Hearts of Oak however, with an uplifted spirit after the home defeat to Kotoko in match week 6, won against Dreams FC on away soil in a match which they dominated play throughout the match.

After losing their first two league matches of the season, Hearts have looked fantastic with some catchy display of football from the likes of Joseph Esso, Emmanuel Nettey and Kofi Kodzi. Ashantigold also are no push overs as they are really dangerous upfront. They seem to have struggle a bit after winning their first three matches of the season. Nevertheless, they can spoil the party for the Phobians, come Thursday night at the Accra Sports Stadium

PREDICTION – HEARTS OF OAK 2 : ASHANTIGOLD 1

ELEVEN WONDERS VS INTER ALLIES FC

After impressive results against a stoic Aduana Stars and holding their own versus Karela, the Techiman lads are poised to stamp their authority on their home ground. Against a 15th placed Inter Allies FC, Ignatius Osei-Fosu’s men are the favoured team to nick all three points. The visitors’ poor run of form does not portend good news for them.

Eleven wonders will seek to capitalize on such strong points while seeking to enter double figures for their points tally this season.

PREDICTION – ELEVEN WONDERS 2: INTER ALLIES FC 0

LEGON CITIES VS ELMINA SHARKS

The freshly branded Legon Cities team slumped to their third defeat of the season away to Karela. With such a patchy form, they will need to dig deep to add to their solitary win so far if they wish to lift themselves from close to the bottom of the table. Elmina Sharks on the other hand will look to Benjamin Tweneboah and Benjamin Boateng to increase their chances of taking anything out of the clash in Accra.

A win for Elmina Sharks can see them crawl into the top ten on the league table while a win for their hosts will move them away from danger near the relegation zone.

PREDICTION – LEGON CITIES 1: ELMINA SHARKS 1

EBUSUA DWARFS VS ADUANA STARS

The mysterious Dwarfs team will host the league leaders, Aduana Stars in Cape Coast. The hosts will be wary of the tenacious start to the season by their opponents who boast a goal difference of +8 and twice that number as their points gathered after seven games.

Yahaya Mohammed and his charges will have something to say in the face the home side’s determination to blight the glittering display of the Aduana lads. The latter look to be relatively stronger than their opponents and can sweep the hosts aside.

PREDICTION – EBUSUA DWARFS 1: ADUANA STARS 2
