The government says it is embarking on “an aggressive installation of closed circuit televisions (CCTV) cameras” across the country.
The move is part of the government’s plans to ensure the safety of the citizenry.
Announcing this, the Information Ministry said that “some of the cameras can be seen conspicuously mounted on their poles in areas like Dansoman, Nima, Newtown, Lapaz, and at traffic intersections”
It explained that the project is “necessary in order to keep a tab on marauding criminals and various traffic offences”
