Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko are considering buying the 12,000 seater-capacity Anane Boateng Stadium and re-construct it to suit their brand , Kumasi-based Fox FM has reported.
The Porcupine Warriors have been using the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and the Jackson Park since the club’s inception, where they have won a lot of laurels.
With the club yet to boost of its own stadium, the new the newly constituted Executive Board has been tasked by Manhyia to acquire a sporting facility befitting of the club.
According to reports, the Board is opened to negotiating with Kessben Group of Companies for the facility which will also serve as the home for the academy should the deal be finalized.
About the Anane Sports Stadium
Anane Boateng Sports Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Kumasi, built by Mr Kwabena Kess the C.E.O of Kessben Group of Companies Ghana at Abrankese near Kuntenase in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti Region.
It is used mostly for football matches and serve as a gathering grounds for thousands of people, mostly members of the Moments of Glory Prayer Army (MOGPA).
The stadium was the home venue of Kessben (which was rechristened Medeama after it changed ownership) of the Ghana Premier League.
The stadium holds 12,000 spectators and opened in 2007.
