Malaria kills:
Malaria is a preventable disease but kills 400,000 people a year mostly African children. There is a new vaccine approved by WHO for malaria but has not been rolled out yet. The mentioned target audience is children from 5-2 years and this injection would be given on their shoulders.
Mr. James Frimpong the MD for FACOG mentioned that sometimes you might feel in your body that you have malaria but when you go to the hospital they will find out that you have no malaria. HE SAID IT COULD PROBABLY BE STRESS IN YOUR BODY AND ANTI-MALARIA CAN’T CURE IT.
Some herbal products too can cure malaria but they must be scientifically tested and FDA approved before use.
Emphasis was made that we should be careful what we take in.
Orange pills are used by some people to cure malaria but Mr. James Frimpong said it repels and can come back
Treated bet nets are supposed to be used to cover our sleeping area and also we should avoid things that cause malaria.
