Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua Sign Two Fight Deal For Undisputed Championship In 2021

Sports

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have agreed on a two-fight deal that will produce the world’s first WBO, WBA, WBC, IBO, IBF, Ring magazine, and lineal unified boxing heavyweight world champion. Anthony Joshua is the current IBO, IBF, WBO, and WBA world champion while Tyson Fury holds the lineal, ring, and WBC world championship belt. The duo has an interim fight this year before the main fight next year. Anthony Joshua is set to defend his titles against his IBF mandatory contender, Kubrat Pulev while Tyson Fury owes Deontay Wilder a rematch following the one-sided battering he gave to Wilder in February 2020.

Most boxing fans have been looking forward to an undisputed fight in the heavyweight boxing scene as there hasn’t been an undisputed champion since 2002 when Lennox Lewis retired as the WBO, WBO and WBA world champion – which were the three recognized championships then. There are now more belts, more money, and more attention to heavyweight boxing.

Tyson is the immediate favorite for the bout, as he remains undefeated and the first person to beat the lineal heavyweight champion in Wladimir Klitschko and now defeated the long-reigning WBC champion in Deontay Wilder, while Joshua, on the other hand, has lost to Andy Ruiz in his American debut but was able to reclaim his titles in an immediate rematch but is generally seen as the weaker champion, especially having that defeat on his record. Styles, they say make fights, we at Gistmania would be monitoring this one with close attention and can’t wait to witness history when the bout finally happens.
