It is established that the Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has revealed government is not ready to re-impose lockdown for the second time despite the increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in the country.
This comes in response to the rumor of another lockdown. According to the Minister, the government is not considering lockdown now.
“Rumors that Akufo Addo government is considering a second lockdown because of the increase in the confirmed COVID-19 cases are false“, Oppong Nkrumah said.
On the 29th March 2020, the President announced a partial lockdown in some parts of the country. The affected areas were Greater Accra, Tema, Kasoa, and Greater Kumasi which started on 31st March 2020.
Movements in the above-mentioned areas were restricted in the bid to trace and test suspected persons.
