The Methodist Church Ghana Donates to Ghana Battle Against Covid 19

The Methodist Church Ghana made a donation of various essential items and amounts to the Government to support the battle against the spread of the Corona virus and covid 19 today. The donation was delivered to the Minister of Health at his office on Wednesday, 1st April.

The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Reverend Dr Kwabena Boafo who delivered the items intimated that God, uses occasions like the current one to remind mankind that He alone is worthy of our worship. He added that the presentation was the Church’s contribution to the State in its efforts to curb the devastation of the disease and expressed the hope that God would bring relief to the nation soon.

The items included quantities of hand sanitizers, drums of industrial ethanol and cash.

The Hon. Minister of Health, Mr. Kwaku Agyeman Manu who received the items thanked the Presiding Bishop and the Methodist Church for once again stepping up to support the state in its time of need. He acknowledged the immense contribution of the Church and added that the opportunity for the Church and State to collaborate for our development has once again been presented to us as a people.

He pledged that the items would be put strictly to the use for which they were made. He promised to carry the message on to the President of Ghana and was optimistic that the President appropriately extend his appreciation to the Church.

The Presiding Bishop was accompanied by other leaders of the Church including the Administrative Bishop, Rt. Reverend Agyarkwa Bossman, Director of Health and Social Services, Dr. Ken Sagoe and Evangelist Dr. Kwaku Asante Krobea.

The various items which ran into over one hundred thousand cedis would benefit Nugochi Memorial Research Institute, Christian Health Service, Ministry of Health, Ghana Prisons Service, Kinarpharma and the Methodist Health facilities.
