Two patients who are being treated for the coronavirus infection in Ghana, are in critical condition, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has said.

This is contained in an update on the website of the GHS, where it gave a breakdown of Ghana’s situation on the pandemic.

The health authorities give no details on the two persons who they say are in critical condition but proceeded to give an entire breakdown of the country’s Covid-19 cases.

As of April 2, 2020, a total of 204 cases have been recorded in Ghana which is an increment by nine from the previous 195.

All nine new cases were recorded in the Greater Accra Region.

“Four of them have no history of travel nor contact with any confirmed case. Other four have no travel history but are contacts of confirmed cases in Ghana and one travelled to Ghana from Benin within the past 14 days,” the GHS said.

The number of regions which have recorded cases remains five: Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Northern and Upper West regions.

“Most of the cases are reported from routine/enhanced surveillance activities. Cases from travellers under mandatory quarantine remain 89,” said the GHS.
