Thomas Partey’s father has revealed his son has held talks with English Premier League side Arsenal over a summer move.
The Atletico Madrid man is on the wanted list of some stellar European clubs with England being a possible destination.
According to recent reports, Los Rojiblancos have tabled a contract offer which will keep him keep at the Wanda Metropolitano until 2025
The new deal would see Partey’s wages, currently at £65,000, doubled and his release clause to be pegged at around £88m (€100m).
Jacob Partey told Adeiso-based radio station Tru FM: ”I called my son after hearing the rumours and he told me that the rumours are true.
“He told me they are holding talks between him and Arsenal. It all depends on the offer Atletico are demanding.
“If he goes to Arsenal fine, they have a lot supporters in Ghana. I will be happy if he decides to move to Arsenal.
“What they are discussing now is how Atletico will release him.”
