1. Job Title: Loader Operator

Purpose

To operate loader at Newmont to deliver material to the appropriate location (primary and oxide crusher, stockpile or waste dump) destination and conduct cleanup activities in a safe and controlled manner.Essential Duties

  • Load trucks to appropriate weights and dimensions following the CAT10/10/20 rule.
  • Manage dig face for safe and efficient loading, including managing the dig face to a safe height.
  • Conduct post-shift inspections regarding hazards and defects identified and communicate these to Dispatch / Supervisor and the incoming operators for the smooth running of Operations.
  • Communicate with Truck Operators and Dispatchers to verify that materials are dumped at the correct locations, based on mark-out information.
  • Utilize JIGSAW System to report loader equipment status (i.e. Down, Standby, Delay or Ready), select appropriate delay, and stand by codes.
  • Report and escalate all accidents and incidents occurring in the shift immediately to the Dispatcher / Shift Supervisor.
  • Load MAN Tipper Trucks.
  • Attend all pre-shift instruction meetings.

2. Job Title: Excavator & Shovel Operator

Purpose

To operate Shovel and Excavator at Newmont to deliver material to the appropriate destination in a safe and controlled manner.Essential Duties

  • Operate excavator machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and standard task procedures (STP’s).
  • Assist in developing peers to perform quality excavating duties.
  • Perform pre-start checks on the excavators and log results onto the JIGSAW system.

3. Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

Purpose

To provide mining operation Geotechnical Engineering and hydrological support related to the design and construction of key features within the mine (i.e. Pit Walls, Waste Dump and TSF) that contribute to the ongoing economic sustainability of the operation. These include: Geotechnical & Hydrological field investigations, monitoring programs, scheduling, data acquisition, modeling and interpretation, and preparation of technical reports.Essential Duties I

  • Lead construction quality control and quality assurance activities (QA/QC) for the construction of key Geotechnical and Hydrological infrastructural aspects on the mine.
  • Lead geotechnical and hydrological instrumentation monitoring and data collection activities; structural mapping, pit dewatering rate and core logging.
  • Oversee the continuous monitoring of pit walls through visual inspections and instrumentation to for warn any potential instabilities.
  • Conduct verification tests and analysis of the pit walls, waste dumps and stockpiles, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.
  • Assist with the development, maintenance and implementation of strategic plans to enhance the operation’s slope stability program and suitable mining bench.

Essential Duties II

  • Provide, implement and review mine design parameters for current and future pit, waste dumps and other facilities on the mine.
  • Monitor the dewatering wells network to ensure efficient production and desired drawdown outcomes.
  • Provide engineering assistance to the Mine water balance modeling
  • Supervise geotechnical and hydrological instrumentation installations in the mine area including prism installation, core drilling, VWP installation and dewatering wells.

4. Job Title: Drilling Supervisor

Purpose

To coordinate, direct and lead blast hole drilling activities, in a safe manner, and coordinate resource allocations to effectively complete the activities.Essential Duties I

  • Execute short, medium and long-term mine drilling plans.
  • Implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the area.
  • Oversee and coordinate the weekly plan for the initiating of drilling schedules.
  • Coordinate, prioritize and assign drilling tasks for completion to meet blasting target goals.
  • Prepare the drill pattern for blasting and conduct final priority drilling inspection.
  • Conduct pre-drilling risk assessments on drilling areas to provide assurance on the safety of all equipment and staff, and to prevent the possible rock fall and / or collapse.
  • Install physical critical controls (i.e. demarcations, flags, cones) and make sure that all are in place, prior to drilling.
  • Obtain survey limits from the relevant stakeholders to determine drill sites.
  • Coordinate and pair the drilling crew with the relevant equipment required to execute tasks.

  • Undertake safety inspections of the drilling work sites, before, during and after drilling activities.
  • Schedule and supervise all drilling activities, by overseeing and evaluating works-in-progress and assure that all activities meet quality control standards, specifications, codes and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for both short, medium and long-term interval controls, based on the drilling plan, and make any necessary adjustments and changes to the shift, to meet daily target projections
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to procure and keep raw consumable stock levels up-to-date.
  • Coordinate with Mine Maintenance to assure that maintenance requirements are reported timeously and to secure maintenance equipment availability.
  • Communicate with Dispatch regarding the capturing of drilling delays in the JIGSAW system for updating real-time consumable information for better future planning and continuous improvement purposes
  • Suggest opportunities for continuous improvement of drilling activities.

Essential Duties III

  • Comply with safe drilling procedures for both Newmont and contractor staff.
  • Verify that all Newmont health and safety principles are upheld by staff.

5. Job Title: Shift Supervisor – Mine Operations

Purpose
