CEO of Charterhouse, Theresa Ayoade has disclosed that the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) hasn’t been called off.

Theresa Ayoade disclosed that the event had to be rescheduled because of the Coronavirus pandemic, she then stated that it’s to take place in August this year.

She made this revelation in an interview on JOY News TV with Emefa Apawu where she said they scheduled it for August because they believe the Covid-19 rules would be relaxed by then.

VGMAs 2020 will happen, and we are looking at having the 2020 VGMAS in August. This is because by that time, the Covid-19 rules would have been relaxed a bit. The ceremony may not be exactly as it used to be in the past but obviously, with what is happening now, it’s going to be a downscale version,”

She continued;

The challenges of putting together logistics and not being sure of expected revenue is a real issue. In normal times, we will have been able to sell up to 4,000 tickets in VGMA-related events, but it is not so now,”

The 2020 VGMAs was supposed to take place at Accra Conference Center in February 2020 but it was canceled due to the Coronavirus outbreak which forced the country into lockdown.
