The hash tag “FixTheCountry” has been one of the most popular yet controversial campaigns in Ghana in recent times.
They have been in court for sometime now following the police force of Ghana’s refusal to allow them demonstrate to make the world know their plights as youth in Ghana.
The police force of Ghana has however stated they were stopped because of Covid-19, the campaigners have questioned why the police allowed political rallies and state burials, where there were serious crowding without concerning themselves about Covid-19.
The court was supposed to give its verdict today and Efia Odo, one of the front liners of the campaign encouraged all supporters of the campaign to come in their numbers to the court.
Information reaching us is that she and some of the campaigners have been picked up by the police. This information was posted by the fix the country’s Twitter page and re-tweeted by Efia Odo’s twitter account.
“The Ghana Police service his just arrested @efiaodo1 and other #FixTheCountry convenors and campaigners. They are being held at the Accra Regional Police Head Quarters. The court was set to rule on the matter at 1:30pm”.
The main reason of the arrest has however not been stated by the police.
