The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has received the $1 million relief fund promised by FIFA to its members to aid them through the Coronavirus pandemic.

As drafted by FIFA, 50% of the money will be given to women’s football and the rest will be shared amongst Premier League clubs, Division one clubs and other stake holders.

It will be recalled that when the world football governing body released a statement regarding the distribution of the relief fund, they made it clear that all members will account for the money spent and this will be a key factor for FIFA to release the rest of the $500, 000 in January 2021.

Weeks ago, the GFA had a zoom meeting with the parties involved to explain the distribution process.

The relief fund will provide cushioning to the recipients to aid them through the current financial difficulties driven by the global pandemic.
