BECHEM UNITED vs KARELA FC

Bechem United has been in some fine form this season and are yet to lose a game. They managed to secure a goalless draw game against Aduana Stars in their fearsome Dormaa Ahenkro venue. Captain Moro Salifu and his “Valiant Hunters” will leave no stone unturned to secure a win against Karela, which could potentially move them top of the log.

Karela United have been solid as well and are yet to lose a game. After recording 2 draws and 4 wins, they are prepared to continue this fine form. An away win will further stretch their lead on top of the table. Talisman Diawisie Taylor will love to add on to his goal tally for a run for the goal king award at the end of the season.

LEGON CITIES vs EBUSUA DWARFS

Legon Cities host Ebusua Dwarfs in Game week 6 of the Ghana Premier League. Legon Cities made the headlines during the transfer window with a lot of promising signings including Black Stars striker, Asamoah Gyan. Languishing at the bottom of the League, they seriously need to pick up results quick and fast. Bashir Hayford admits that there is a lot of work to be done, especially in the attacking third.

Ebusua Dwarfs go into this game without a victory to boast of away from Home. They lost in their previous game away against Eleven Wonders. With a single victory to their name after playing 4 games in the league, things look bleak for them as they face a hungry Legon Cities side. What could work in their favour is that they have nothing to lose.

KING FAISAL vs HEARTS OF OAK

King Faisal’s defense is the weakest in the league, having conceded as many as 12 goals. Interestingly, they have scored more goals than their opponents Accra Hearts of Oak. After suffering a humiliating 5 – 1 loss to Ashgold in their outstanding fixture played barely three days ago, the team is languishing in the relegation zone of the league log. They must up their game if they have any intentions of avoiding the drop. The team must brush off unconfirmed reports of the dismissal of their head coach Slavisc Bozocic and concentrate fully on the game ahead.

Hearts of Oak are seeking to bounce back after that loss to Aduana Stars. The “Phobians” are looking to take advantage of the porous defense of their opponents to salvage some hope lost by a section of their supporters. Fans of this great club have not hidden their displeasure about the team’s current performance. Nothing but a win will calm the nerves of the supporters.

ELMINA SHARKS vs INTER ALLIES

It is round six of the Ghana Premier League and the Elmina sharks will welcome Inter Allies to the Nduom Sports Complex. Despite being 7th on the table, Sharks have just one win to show for their trademark resilience this season. A tally matched by their opponents who lie 16th and in the relegation zone. Sharks finally tasted defeat over the weekend against Ashgold after their unbeaten start to the season and will quickly try to seize the chance to turn their fortunes around against a team that is yet to record an away point or goal this season. Expect star men Benjamin Tweneboah and Richard Mpong who are sharks top scorers with two goals each this season to put the team with a wretched away form to the sword.

Despite their fine victory against Accra Hearts of Oak, International Allies have been a pale shadow of themselves this season. Danish coach Hank Peters Lehm has cited their sale of players as major cause for their slump. There will be less time for blame game as they face an uphill task against sharks in another colossus of an away game. Captain and ever reliant center back Hashmin Musa will lead the tampico boys into a lion’s den, hoping to come back with a surprise victory which will serve as a huge boost for the rest of the season.

GREAT OLYMPICS vs WAFA

Accra Great Olympics will take on 2nd placed WAFA in a feisty game week 6 match-up. Olympics who are 5th on the league table can move up to 2nd with a win against WAFA. The Oly Dade boys who are coming of the back of a win against the porcupine warriors in a rescheduled game week 1 match will look to keep a winning streak going and will keep the morale in camp high. Coach Annor Walker and his boys will have to come with their A game against a team who has beaten them on their turf before.

WAFA will face an Olympics team that has not tasted a home defeat in this season. They will have to be at their best if they are to take anything away in this match. In the 2019/2020 season, WAFA managed to beat Olympics at their own backyard by a goal to nil. A win against the Olympics could lift them to the summit of the league table. Looking at the head-to-head between the two teams in their 5 previous encounters, WAFA was won two, drawn 2 and lost one.

MEDEAMA vs LIBERTY PROFESSIONALS

After snatching a slender victory against Ebusua Dwarfs away from home, Medeama return to the Abrankese Stadium to host Liberty Professionals. Their home form has been abysmal to say the least. But they will be looking to build upon their positive results from their previous game.

The Scientific soccer lads with just one loss so far in the league do not perform satisfactorily away from home. Their recent victory against high flying Great Olympics gives them hope that the tide can change.  We are set to witness a cagey encounter at the Abrankese Stadium.

ELEVEN WONDERS vs ASHGOLD

Eleven Wonders are back at home after claiming a draw in their previous game. Sitting 7th on the table, they have won only one game out of 5 matches they have played so far. They face a side that are brimming in confidence after being knocked out of the Confederations Cup qualifiers.

AshantiGold have been one of the big hitters in the league recently after scoring 9 goals in two matches. The Obuasi based side walloped King Faisal in one of their outstanding matches on Wednesday 5-1. They will seek to win their 3rd game on the bounce when they host Eleven Wonders in Game week 6. Will this be the season that AshantiGold contest for the League title?

DREAMS FC vs KOTOKO

Dreams FC may not have the fixture list and form going their way this time around, as they are thrust into another challenge with another Ghanaian footballing giant in Kumasi Asante Kotoko. The thrashing at the hands of Hearts of Oak exposed the Dawu side on both the attacking and defensive fronts, where the two departments were sub-par overall. Joseph Esso and Abel Manomey were kept at bay in the last encounter. They will have to find their form against a Kotoko side who will seek to make amends in game week 6.

The porcupine warriors were handed a reality check against in-form Great Olympics at the Accra Sports stadium. They have an encounter against Al-Hilal of Sudan and will want to be in the best form. Former Coach Maxwell Konadu bemoaned the lethargy displayed by some of his players as well as the inability to convert their chances to goals. With that said, Kotoko will have to focus on bouncing back in Dawu without Konadu, who was sacked hours ago. They grabbed a vital win last season in Dawu.

BEREKUM CHELSEA vs ADUANA STARS

This fierce regional derby never falls short of exciting, as two giants of the Bono region lock horns in match week 6 of the Ghana Premier league. Berekum Chelsea have not looked impressive so far, having won only once since the league started. The “Bibires” as they like to be called, have only managed to score 3 goals this season and look a pale shadow of a team that won the league some time back. The likes of Emmanuel Clottey who scored a late equalizer against Kotoko in their match week 2 fixture, has been unimpressive ever since.

Aduana Stars after a commanding win over Accra Hearts of Oak, in that outstanding league fixture, are in pole position to make it two wins out of two. The “Ogya” boys are also struggling with the win over Hearts, being their first of the season. Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin and his lads come into this game well motivated to keep the smiles on the faces of their fans, who will follow closely outside the match venue since league matches continue to be played behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
