“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”
(John 16:24 KJV)
Jesus was assuring His disciples that they were not being left fatherless. He was encouraging them to stand firm and continue with His good works. He told them of the Holy Spirit who was coming to guide and lead them all the way.
Jesus then confirmed to them the power of Prayer that was available to them. He emphasised that whatever they asked the Father in His name, would be granted.
This privilege has been extended to all Christians and therefore we should go to the Lord in prayer and do it in the name of Jesus. The things that we think are too small or not relevant to ask God, go ahead and ask!
The scripture which is a direct quote of Jesus comes with the full assurance that as you ask in Jesus’ name, you will receive. Do not stop asking or get tired asking for the same thing over and over again. Jesus says keep asking and you will receive the answers so that your joy may be full.
In the midst of the world pandemic, keep on praying for God’s mercies and protection.
