LIFE PROBLEMS ARE “LIKE SHADOWS”.

Morning Devotion

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
(Psalms 23:4 KJV)

A Shadow is an image cast on a surface when an object is intercepted by Light. It is not the reality, but an image. It only resemble the original, but it is not the original!

The word “SHADOW” has the same root as ‘arrogance’.

Hence, the ‘shadow of death’ implied ‘arrogant image’.
An image lifting itself just to scare you.

Some of you are going through the valley of the shadow right now. Perhaps the valley of the shadow of death.

It may be the valley of the shadow of debt.
It may be the valley of the shadow of conflict.
It may be the valley of the shadow of depression.
It may be the valley of the shadow of discouragement,
or the valley of the shadow of divorce.

Shadows are scary. But shadows can’t hurt you. They are seemingly only bigger than the source (problem), yet only being ‘arrogant’.

And here’s the good news. Wherever there’s a shadow, there has to be a light. You can’t have a shadow without light.

Jesus said;
“While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
(John 9:5 NIV)

Jesus, the Light of the world, has intercepted the problem already. What you see is just an ‘arrogant shadow’.

The fact that you see the shadow means Jesus is always by your side. In fact his promise is:

“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:20 (b) NIV)
That’s how you go through the valley of the shadow of death. That’s how you lower your stress. You trust God in the dark valleys, knowing that without ‘the Light’, the shadows wouldn’t be visible.

Don’t live in excessive fear of COVID 19.
Follow the protocols but trust in the protective and healing power in the name of Jesus Christ the son of living God.

SHALOM.
