In a statement signed by the Campaign Spokesperson for the party, James Agyenim-Boateng, the tour of the Volta Region will be followed by a similar one to the Oti Region.

According to the statement, Mr Mahama is expected to meet with traditional rulers, opinion leaders, organised labour, supporters, members, and activists of the NDC, so he can reiterate his commitment to developing the newly created regions.

“In the Oti Region, he is expected to highlight the NDC’s superior records of infrastructure development across the country as well as re-state his commitment to developing the six new regions by providing among others, regional hospitals and a public university in each new region.”

The press release sighted by JoyNews also concluded that after the four-day tour in the Volta Region and three-day tour of the Oti Region, the flagbearer is expected to be back in Greater Accra on Sunday.

Meanwhile, his running mate, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is still on a 10-day tour which began on Friday, August 14.

She is touring the Upper East, North East, Northern, Bono and Ahafo Regions.

Her tour follows her recent courtesy calls on traditional authorities, religious leaders and other key stakeholders in the Central and Greater-Accra Regions.
