Mahama is coming back to correct his past mistakes – NDC

Former President John Dramani Mahama is seeking re-election to correct some ills of his first tenure, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said.

According to the Deputy General Secretary of the party, Peter Boamah Otokunor, Mr. Mahama has learnt from some of the mistakes in his erstwhile administration.

He said: “And bear in mind that [former] president Mahama has admitted that he made some mistakes and this time around he’s going to correct the mistakes”.

This he believes will be the winning ticket for the NDC in the upcoming 2020 General Elections.

“He has realised that there were some things he could have done better which he’s planning to do. So if of all the achievements that he has made, all his significant monumental achievements which the NPP compares very lowly to then you’ll get the president coming in deals with new commitment, deals with new strength and with this level of sincerity then you can be assured that his performance will far outweigh what the NPP people have done.”NDC Deputy General Secretary, Peter Boamah Otokunor.NDC Deputy General Secretary, Peter Boamah Otokunor.

He added that, the kind of policies being churned out by the NDC and the manner in which their campaign is being run is proof that the Mahama government will make amends for past mistakes.

Mr. Otokunor’s admission comes after John Mahama was advised by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to do an introspection of his former administartion.

According to Otumfuo, Ghanaians ousted the erstwhile Mahama-led government as a show of their anger and dissatisfaction with how the country was run under his leadership and therefore cautioned the former president against repeating those same mistakes.

He stated: “Also, let them know that the mistakes won’t be repeated. Upon losing the 2016 election, I told you Ghanaians voted against you out of anger and disappointment in your administration,” the Otumfuo said.

  1. This is sheer nonsense. What mistakes is he going to rectify? He thinks being in charge of governance is like the raffle, “Try Your Luck”.
Ghanaians suffered a lot under his tenure, to mention a few, 4 long years of Dumsor, numerous high taxes, increment utilities charges.
The President, Nana Akufo-Addo, and his NPP are doing a very good job, fixing the economy that was off rails, effectively introducing and get going Free SHS, easing the hardships imposed on Ghanaians by the Mahama government by making their livelihoods better, creating more jobs for all and sundry and so many more social interventions to help the rank and file of the nation.
John Dramani Mahama is a total failure who is not fit for purpose and should not be allowed anywhere near the Presidency as there is nothing substantial he can positively offer or amend to ameliorate the lives of Ghanaians. To boot, he is unreliable, a man who does not fulfil his promises and show abject disrespect to Ghanaians thinking the populace could be played like puppets on strings.
If Ghanaians want to see the good deeds by the Nana Akufo-Addo’s government to be destroyed by the NDC, then they should vote for Mahama and his henchmen. Bear in mind, ex President John Agyekum Kuffour did a lot for the nation only to see everything whittle away, like a hen, by the NDC when they voted in by Ghanaians.
Furthermore, for the betterment of Ghanaians and the nation, we must give Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP four more years and forget wholly about John Mahama and the NDC who nothing but square pegs in round holes.
    I rest my case.
