The National Democratic Congress (NDC) had earlier indicated that it had suspended its Ayawaso North constituency chairman, Ahmed Tahiru.
This followed a claim by the latter to the police that the NDC National Vice Chairman, Alhaji Said Sinare, has supplied guns to some youth to cause mayhem in the upcoming December 7 polls.
However, former National Organiser of the NDC, Mahdi Jibril speaking on Neat FM’s Me Man Nti programme said the Ayawaso North Constituency Chairman has rather been expelled from the party and not suspended.
“…..you are the party chairman and you know we follow laid down rules in the party…he’s aware of the party’s constitution and yet he went ahead to do what he did. Just to embarrass and destroy the party. He is not only suspended; we are expelling him from the party. With this kind of behaviour you don’t deserve to be in the party,” he indicated.
