Streamlined Solitude

Tuesday Thrills

Thoughts raced through her mind, as she sat at the bank of the river, throwing stones at her reflection, causing her water image to wobble, as there was a perturbation of the water’s surface, caused by ripples made by the force from the stone. The only sounds that filled her state of solitude were the splash made by the stones and the silent whooshing of the wind, as well as a tiny hum made from songs that resonated from within her spirit. She had a big decision to make, and she needed to activate the silence–to avail herself to The Spirit within her to will and to act towards fulfilling His good purpose.

On her third throw, a water moss floating on the surface of the river, was prevented from making it to its destination, because of the rippling effect of the water–when this happened, a truth was made known to her; ‘Everyone has a journey to take, however, there will be unanticipated blocks, which you might have to break down, however, focus must not be lost, because eventually, you must be realigned. As the rings of water formed from the ripples disappear with time, causing the moss to float even faster, so will the setback become renewed strength for a better comeback.’ She let out a heavy sigh of relief at this first truth and smiled, then, her pitch increased, as she hummed to a tune that resonated from within her.

On her fifth throw, which seemed to have created a louder splash, an eel appeared on the surface of the river, revealing another exceptional truth–an eel is a fish which looks more like a snake due to certain features it lacks, when compared to the normal fish. Eels have no pelvic fins, as well as pectoral fins, however, they are rich in distinct vitamins; from calcium to zinc, and even, iron. That’s the beauty of lack–‘Grace is actualised in lack. For when there is lack, there is the absence, till Grace comes in and makes provision for the absence, creating a bountiful presence.’

She was satisfied with what she had been able to acquire in her state of solitude, as The Spirit within her had led her to massive truths for her big decison, so she made a sixth throw and stood to her feet, attempting to make her way back home.

Walking along the bank of the river, she hummed louder to tunes that resonated from within her and leaped with joy, picked up a stone and made her seventh throw, which created the loudest splash ever. “A greater measure of joy is made for those who trust me, and heed to my counsel,” a voice whispered to her, and she smiled.
