“He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
( JOHN 1 : 11-13 KJV)
The new birth is the means by which God brings a man into the newness of life that conforms to God’s will and plan for man.
According to today’s text, the new birth is made possible because God releases His power in the lives of men. The outcome of this operation is a brand of man who is described as the son of God. In other words, God is his Father and life giver.
The key to access this operation is faith in the name of Jesus, the one whose life paid the ransom for the salvation of all humanity.
The new birth is not of the flesh, it is not by natural means. It is not based on the will or desire of any man. It is absolutely divine.
According to John 3:3&5
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God….. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
The key actors in the operation of the new birth are the water (word of God) and the Spirit of God. These are life transforming forces, if they are permitted to operate on the heart and soul of man.
To those who turn to God for salvation, the new birth provides the vision of the kingdom of God. This makes it possible for the child of God to envision and relate to kingdom realities.
It also provides access into the kingdom of God. This is where we become partakers of the Kingdom of God, which is our right as sons of God.
