Trump announces presidential delegation to attend the inauguration of Akufo-Addo

President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump has announced the selection of a Presidential Delegation to attend the second inauguration of President Akufo-Addo, Thursday, January 7.

Per the announcement, it will be a 2-member delegation led by the United States Special Envoy for the Sahel Region of Africa, Ambassador Dr. J. Peter Pham. He will be accompanied by the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana, Stephanie S. Sullivan.

This was disclosed on the White House’s foreign policy website, dated January 4, 2021.

Meanwhile, President-elect of the United States of America, Joseph Biden has said he is hopeful of more engaging dialogue in the future with President Akufo-Addo.

In a letter replying to President Akufo-Addo’s congratulatory message to him upon winning the US election, Joe Biden said there are common problems facing both countries and their people that make it relevant to strengthen the relationship that exists.

“Vice President-elect Harris and I will take office at a time of great global challenges from the coronavirus to climate change that transcend borders and require International Corporation,” he stated.
