2 arrested for blocking China Mall entrance

The Weija Divisional Police arrested 2persons for allegedly blocking the entrance to China mall with rocks at Weija, in Accra.

The suspects have been identified as James Mensah, facility manager of West Hills Mall, and Samuel Annum a contractor aged 42 and 44 respectively. The suspects were in the custody of Weija Police.

The Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Juliana Obeng, confirmed the arrest yesterday in Accra.

About 2:00 am on Saturday the police at Weija received a distress call from the security man at China mall that some persons dumped rocks from a truck onto the entrance of China mall, behind the West Hills Mall said by the DSP Obeng

The police after reporting to the scene observed that the entrance to the mall has been blocked with rocks.

DSP Obeng said when the suspects saw the police, they took to their heels but they were later arrested and taken to the command for questioning.

According to DSP Obeng, investigations indicated that the West Hills Mall was in competition with China mall. The rocks have been moved from the entrance of the China Mall and investigation into the case continued
