The National Service Secretariat (NSS) has reposted all the six national service persons who were assigned to a school in Dansoman that has only one student.
Three of them were reposted to the Association of African Universities at East Legon, while the other three were reposted to the Pentecost Vocational Training Institute at Mallam-Gbawe, the Odorgonno Senior High School (SHS) at Awoshie and the Mataheko 1 Basic School at Kaneshie, all in Accra.
The reposting followed a publication in the Daily Graphic which reported the grievances of the six service persons who had been posted to the Dansoman SHS, only to discover that there was only one student in the school.
Headmistress
The headmistress of the private Dansoman SHS had refused to release the six for reposting to another school when they made the request, claiming that although there was only one student in her school, she still needed the services of the NSS persons
The six, who started working in their new stations on January 27, this year, expressed appreciation to the Daily Graphic and the NSS for their intervention.
“We thank the Daily Graphic so much for its intervention. We are grateful for the effort,” they said, adding: “We thank the NSS too for promptly coming to our aid following the publication.”
The Deputy Executive Director of the NSS, Dr Gifty Oware, charged the six to diligently render their services at their various posts, saying it was required of them to put in the effort to achieve the best results.
