Later today, Friday, November 12, the family of the Late President J. J. Rawlings will hold a remembrance mass to mark the first anniversary of his death.
He was born on June 22, 1947, to a Scottish father and a Ghanaian mother and died at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra on November 12, 2020.
He was a military and political leader in Ghana, who twice in (1979, 1981) overthrew the government and seized power. His second period of rule (1981–2001) afforded Ghana political stability and competent economic management.
The venue for the remembrance mass will at the Holy Spirit Cathedral at Adabraka in Accra.
