Bountiful Thanks

Tuesday Thrills

He mounted the stage, as the lives of broken people stared at him, ready to receive what God had revealed. He started with songs, songs of praise–the melodies that rise from the heart to create rhythmic tempo above the earth into the heavens.
He stood before willing receivers, yet he fell into that category, because he equally desired to receive. He was the speaker–the preacher, but he longed to hear what the Lord had for him as well. “Lord, minister to me, as you minister through me, to your people,” his yearning prayer.

In his own world, he was elevating the Majesty of His King, Our Lord; that He may take total dominance of the session, but in the world of the audience, they couldn’t help, but get moved by the songs he raised. For as he sang, he expressed the thanks in the hearts of others, reminded others of the existence of the Might of God, and most importantly, he rekindled the faith of the others, who felt lost and distressed. Hence, they walked to the altar, sowing seeds as the songs ministered to their individual situations.

Watching from a distance, Mannie couldn’t help, but smile. “He hasn’t even started preaching, and yet, people keep trooping in with good tidings,” she thought to herself. It was there she realized the power of genuine thanksgiving. As the preacher’s thanks rose to the heavens, the church increased both financially and spiritually. As he remained thankful, the hearts of the majority were renewed, and the lives of others moved towards greatness.

Likened to the thanks made over the lunch of the young boy among the five thousand, many were sated, so were many satiated, when the preacher mounted the podium that morning, and after he preached, Mannie longed for nothing more–she remained sated, and he left fully accomplished. He left carrying the remaining twelve baskets for his family and friends. Mannie made sure to take an extra as well, when she walked over to him to appreciate his good work.

When Mannie got home that day, it was a whole new understanding of thanksgiving. “With genuine thanksgiving, there is the evidence of multiplication,” she thought to herself. “I want to forever thank you, Lord!” She prayed.
