BECHEM UNITED vs ELEVEN WONDERS

Bechem United have experienced a drop in their performance in the past matches as they have won only once in their last 5 games. The team has not been the same after suffering a 6 – 1 loss to Accra Hearts of Oak. They recorded a slim win against struggling King Faisal immediately after that match and have looked almost ordinary in their other matches played. They are now 6th on the log but can go top of the league win a heavy win, as only 2 points separates them from leaders Karela United. They are yet to lose at home, with a record of 3 wins and 2 draws so far. Coach Danso and his boys need to dig deep into their arsenal to put away Eleven Wonders to make a statement that the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park is no place to joke.

Techiman Eleven Wonders have not been too convincing this season with their performance. Some inconsistent performances have left them 12th on the table and a loss can push them down the perking order. The team has some individually brilliant players like midfielder Salifu Ibrahim, who is reportedly a transfer target for Hearts of Oak. The team has shown a lack of character in some matches played and Coach Ignatius might have a different approach to this game against Bechem. The venue is about a 2hour drive from Techiman and they are poised to spoil the party for Bechem United. An interesting afternoon of football awaits.

KING FAISAL vs BEREKUM CHELSEA

King Faisal’s woes in the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League continues as they play against Berekum Chelsea. They have remained in the relegation zone for a while and it looks like only a miracle can make them avoid relegation. Although they have not been bad in the matches so far this season, they seem to lack character to prevent conceding goals. Perhaps they will take advantage of the new transfer window to acquire some solid defenders to beef up the squad.

Berekum Chelsea are also experiencing their fair share of struggles in the league with their current position on the table. With just 1 point away from the relegation zone, the Berekum boys need to up their game to stay afloat in the league. After a difficult 0-0 against Hearts, traveling to play King Faisal in Techiman should not be energy draining to the players.

HEARTS OF OAK vs OLYMPICS

An old, fierce, and long-standing rivalry will be reignited in this match week 11 fixture, as glorious Hearts of Oak host city rivals Accra Great Olympics. The last time the two met, Hearts won by 4 goals to nil. Hearts are looking forward to continuing their current fine form this season and possibly repeat that emphatic win against Olympics. After playing a difficult 0-0 game away against Berekum Chelsea in their last fixture, Kosta Papic and his boys are yearning to get back to winning ways to send a strong indication of their desire to win the league this year. The Phobia side have a boost in their line up with the return of Manaf Umar who missed their previous game due to accumulation of yellow cards and a host of other key players who are returning from injury.

The “Dade boys” have not won against Hearts in the “Ga mashie derby” since 2009. Olympics have also been in some fine form this season and their position on the table is no fluke. A good win could send them too of the league once again this season. The likes of Phillip Sackey and captain Gladson Awako have been impressive with the team and have inspired some great performances and wins this season. Coach Yaw Preko who incidentally is a former Hearts of Oak player and coach, will have a real test of his tactical prowess in this fixture. Both teams need to work hard for a win since current form usually does not win derby matches.

Fans should expect an amazing match and a real showdown in this “Ga mashie” derby.

INTER ALLIES vs LEGON CITIES

Inter Allies host fellow Accra dwellers, Legon Cities in a mini derby of their own. Their intent is to make amends for the loss in against Medeama in their last league fixture. Their last home game did not bring them joy either, as they succumbed to a two-nil loss to Olympics. Capturing the maximum points in this fixture is very vital because, their next encounter will not come easy against Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Legon Cities are fresh off a resounding victory against Ashgold and have a mighty wind of momentum on their side. Their forward line, for the first time this season was exceptionally brilliant, netting five goals in that game. Inter Allies presents a less difficult prospect for coach Bashir Hayford. That notwithstanding, the desire to win must not the diminished. Their woes and struggles will be far behind them if David Cudjoe, who got a brace in their last outing can continue with that scintillating performance.

ADUANA STARS vs EBUSUA DWARFS

The fire boys are coming into their home fixture after recording a spectacular win against Kotoko in that breathtaking match day 10 encounter in Accra. Bioh’s sweet strike was the undoing for Kotoko and Dwarfs will be wary of his likes and Yahya Mohammed who failed to score after promising his fans. Another opportunity to make amends beckons and the fire boys are truly buoyed for this encounter.

Ebusua Dwarfs had to settle for a draw at home to WAFA in their last match. Their form has not been as palatable as their opponents as they have registered just one win in their last five games. They will be seeking to undo the unimpressive trend away to Aduana. The Nana Agyeman Badu park is no easy ground for any opponent but Dwarfs have nothing to lose and will be seeking to unsettle and upset coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s boys.

KARELA UNITED vs MEDEAMA SC

Karela United FC are still top of the league table with 18 points. Having failed to extend the lead on top of the table as they played a goalless draw against Accra Great Olympics in game week 10. Karela have a perfect home record this season and coming up against a Medeama team that has only won one game on the road, Karela will be well motivated to win the match to maintain their home record and stay on top of the league table. This will be the first installment of the Western Regional derby.

Medeama’s defender Mohammed Abass scored a brace to help them beat Inter Allies by 2 goals to one claiming all 3 points. The result leaves them 9th on the league log with 14 points. Coach Samuel Boadu and his charges have their work cut out as they come up against Karela who are yet to lose at home and top of the table. Their last previous encounter in the 2019/2020 season ended in a one all draw and Medeama will be hoping to go one better in this match.

WAFA vs LIBERTY PROFESSIONALS

Although WAFA began the season brightly earning 3 victories in 6 games, they have slumped to a solitary win in their last 5 matches. That victory came after they shipped in 4 goals: encompassing their troubles seeing off games. In fact, they surrendered their lead in their last 2 games. Coach Prosper Nartey has aimed at absolute fitness for his inexperienced academy boys, sighting that as a probable cause for their recent form. Daniel Owusu scored his season opener and has expressed interest in stepping into the shoes of current goal king of the ongoing league Daniel Lomotey Agbloe who has joined Tunisian giants AS Somalin. WAFA lost the reverse fixture in the truncated league and will be looking to right the wrongs this time around.

Liberty Professionals are in turbid times. 3 defeats in a row and conceding 8 goals in the process. They are the season’s second lowest goal scorers with 8 goals in 10 games. Rather crushingly, they sit 15th, 1 point above the relegation zone with 2 wins all season and yet to record an away win. Definitely not what the usual scientific soccer lads bring to the table. To make matters worse, they have lost their captain and top marksman George Amoako to Tunisian side ES Tataouine. Liberty seem to be a ship sinking so fast without any sight of salvation. It could not have been any worse as they travel to Sogakope to face a team in desperate need of a title resurgence.

ELMINA SHARKS vs DREAMS FC

After a streak of 3 winless games, Elmina sharks finally bounced back in dramatic fashion, clinching all 3 points, thanks to a deep injury time winner by MOTM Ishmael Hammond. They tackle a team in form this weekend at the Nduom Sports Complex in Dreams FC. Tahir Mensah got his first goal of the season coming off the bench in that win and will be itching for a first start of the season. Star Man Richard Mpong still sits out due to injury. Though Sharks have not rolled over teams at home, they are yet to be beaten and thus are expected to display another gung-ho outing where a loss is almost certainly an impossibility at the fortress.

Dreams FC equaled their best ever victory in the top flight, thrashing Liberty Professionals by 4 goals to 1 last weekend. Coach Vladislav Viric’s men are on a decent form; unbeaten in 4 matches with 2 wins and 2 draws – their best run this season. They come into this game separated by a single point from the host who sit 10th, right above them. Agyenim Boateng and Joseph Esso both grabbed braces, with the latter gradually getting back to old strides notching his 4th goal of the season. Ghana Black Satellites international Precious Boah will be yearning for his first start after his brace against Dwarfs on matchday 8.

ASHGOLD vs ASANTE KOTOKO

It is derby day at Obuasi on the last day of the month.

AshantiGold return after a humiliating defeat to Legon Cities in Match day 10. It was an abysmal performance by AshantiGold and things do not get any better for them as they host city rivals, Asante Kotoko next. Both teams are tied on 16 points apiece and are only separated by goal difference. Can they reclaim back some pride and put up a befitting performance Infront of their fans?

Kumasi Asante Kotoko visit Len Clay stadium after falling to a shock one nil defeat to Aduana Stars. Currently lying 5th in the league with the same points as their opponents in match day 11, Kotoko will be aiming to bounce back with a victory against their rivals. Kotoko attackers are yet to click in full gear this season, we may not expect a flurry of goals in this Ashanti derby.
