An angry parent has complained bitterly of how authorities of the Accra Girls Senior High School refused to update parents and guardians on the status of their children after it was confirmed that 55 students had tested positive for COVID-19.
Speaking to ABC News, the woman bemoaned the lack of transparency since the virus broke out in the school.
According to her, even though authorities of the school promised to alert parents whose wards tested positive for COVID-19, she got to know of her daughter’s status from a friend.
She indicated that upon several failed attempts to reach her daughter on phone, she called her daughter’s friend who informed her that her child is part of the students who were taken out of the school after contracting COVID-19.
The angry woman alleged that she was told her daughter had been taken to Kasoa for treatment.
Explaining her reasons for storming the school, she said she only wanted to confirm if her daughter has truly contracted the virus and added that school authorities have so far refused to speak to her.
This she says is giving her sleepless nights because she hasn’t heard from her daughter.
