KARELA VS KOTOKO
The start of Karela United’s season might move from bad to worse as the come up against league leaders, Asante Kotoko. This is not the start of the season karela hoped for, having pick up just one win in their last four matched. Coach Mensah and his lads will need to turn their fortunes around quickly if they are to save their season.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko put up a brilliant performance in their game week 4 match against Eleven Wise, making it 4 wins out of 4. In our current state and the confidence oozing from the camp of the porcupine warriors, they could make it 5 wins out of 5. Last season, Kotoko ended Karela’s unbeaten home record that spanned over four seasons and a repeat of such a feat will be a huge boost to Kotoko’s title challenge.

KING FAISAL VS MEDEAMA
The Ghana Premier League is gradually taking shape as it enters match week 5.
King Faisal welcome Medeama SC to the Baba Yara Stadium where they are yet to lose this season. They narrowly lost by a goal to nil to Berekum Chelsea when they traveled away in their last fixture. They are currently 2nd on the table and have conceded only 2 goals so far this season. The team is playing some nice football and all teams scheduled to play must prepare well as Coach Amadu Nurudeen seems to communicate. Captain fantastic Richard Akrofi and his “army” are poised to bounce back with a win against Medeama.
Medeama will come into this game under the direction of interim coach Umar Abdul, after the sacking of Ignatius Osei-Fosu after just 3 games in charge. Coach Abdul secured their first win of the season with a 2-nil win over Karela United in their previous fixture. Medeama have a boost in their set up with the return of midfield pillar Justice Blay. Blay announced his return from the long injury layoff when he opened the score from a spot kick in that win against Karela. It is indeed going to be a huge task in this fixture but captain Joseph Tetteh Zuta will be glad to lead the “Yellow and Mauves” to victory.

GOLD STARS VS ACCRA LIONS
Bibiani Goldstars will play host to Accra Lions in a game week 5 encounter. This will be a matchup between two league debutants. Both teams have similar stats at end of game week 4. Bibiani lies on top of Accra Lions only on goal difference. Even though Bibiani Gold Stars have lost a home match against this season, they will be relishing playing against Accra Lions at the Dun’s Park.
Accra Lions have not fared well away from home this season. They have conceded 6 goals away from home. A trend they will need to curb if they are to make any meaningful mark in the league, but with the Gye Nyame Boys struggling to find the back of the net on a regular basis, Accra Lions could possibly come away with something at the end of the game. This should be an interest match for the neutrals.

RTU VS ASHANTIGOLD
RTU promised their fans and stakeholders that they are here to stay in the Ghana Premier League. So far, their showing has not been one that should bring much consternation at this stage of the season. They sit pretty at 13th position on the league after recording two losses, a win, and a draw. Their last game against Aduana Stars, where they were pummeled by five goals to one is a game they have to put behind them and seek out an opportunity to grab maximum points at home. Ashgold is the obstacle and will give them a stern test.
Ashgold are brimming with confidence after subjecting the defending champions, Hearts of Oak, to their first defeat of the season. With their tails up, no opponent can intimidate the Aboakese. They will be weary of their own top scorer last season, David Abagna, who is continuing his goalscoring form in Tamale. A win and a draw in their last two encounters will give them a confidence boost for the game.
