Catholic priest, seven others attacked by armed robbers at Asuom, E/R

A Catholic priest and seven others hace been attacked by armed robbers in two separate incidents at Asuom in the Eastern Region.

No arrest has been made yet.

Police said they received a distress call from one of the victims, Abubakari Sule on Thursday night.

The victim narrated that about 7:00pm while on his way to Kade from Asuom with six other persons in a Honda CR-V with no registration number, they realised a section of the road has been blocked with firewood.

He slowed down only to be attacked by eight masked armed robbers.

His windscreen was damaged, rear glass of the driver side smashed and front tyre deflated.

The police proceeded to the crime scene and found three unused shells of BBB catridges.

The armed robbers had fled when the police got there.

The second incident recorded at 7:25pm involved Rev. Father Emmanuel Angmor, who was returning to Asoum from Abaam in a Nissan pick up with registration number GN 8091-14.

Police report says he was also met by six armed robbers wielding pump action guns.

The robbers shot at the passenger side door, back windscreen and front tyre of the driver’s side.

Three empty shells of BBB catridges and three unused shells of BBB catridges were found at the second crime scene by the police .

The police are yet to trace the armed robbers and make any arrest.
