Journalists and Civil Society Demand Justice for Caleb Kudah

Caleb Kudah, who works with an Accra-based radio station, Citi FM, had gone discreetly into the premises of the national security ministry to take pictures of abandoned state vehicles but was arrested and allegedly beaten. 

Caleb Kudah was detained at the ministry for questioning for breaking the laws of the national security ministry.

Zoe Abu-Baidoo,a colleague who is believed to have received copies of the pictures via WhatsApp was also arrested by the the security operatives. 

The two journalists were compelled to delete the pictures and videos taken during their investigations.

These actions taken the security personnel have been condemned by many Ghanaians describing it as brutality against journalists. 

The national security ministry released a statement saying they were investigating the incident. 

Civil society organisations, including the Ghana Journalist Association, are demanding that justice be served and officers involved punished. They have also called for reforms in the use of force and physical attacks by national security operatives for Ghana.
